With the recent events happening in the country and reactions so far points down to a simple fact that Nigeria and Nigerians seek total transitions in every sectors, being it private or government for a better future and the processes involve in actualizing these transitions are the chain reactions of kiosk, religion conflicts, political crisis, ethnic and economy down streams.
People need to realize that we cannot accomplish so much at this early stage and for the little good we're going to accomplish will bring huge pains with many loosing hope because the system hasn't been on right platform for years and the seemly wrong persons occupying vital positions in government offices needs to be evacuated with immediate appointment of qualified individuals to fill in such vacant offices. Talking about appointment, this is where I may lay blames on president Jonathan by surrounding himself with many tested and failed politicians who in the past had failed Nigeria and Nigerians. Why and for whose benefit are these people hanging around for? For goodness sake, select few who has something to offer with good intention and ask others to step aside.
President Jonathan ought to know that if he and his cabinets must succeed he has to step on toes on those seeing natural resources as personal, family, ethnic, or Geo-political zones heritage. This mindset is completely intolerant to good people of Nigeria. Nigeria is for all Nigerians and so its natural resources.
Nigeria economy is supposedly to be on steady growth level and with all these eventualities befalling the seemly running system, we haven't had any positive growth since decade. I remember the time of late Tunde and Gowon in early 80's. According to many, these men knew what was needed in the system until IBB took them off the scene. This where Nigeria problem begun.
IBB came to introduce corruptions and suicidal approach into Nigeria politics and since then, we have been growing backward instead of the opposite direction as normal people. IBB presently is one among the CABAs fighting the government over the removal of oil subsidy. He indirectly co-own a firm importing fuel into the country and never pay due tax to the government. How do we expect the system to run as we expect if oil importing firms refuses to pay tax? I was happy when I read in the president speech call on EFCC to probe those importing fuel into the country.
How can a country like Nigeria will be paying 25% of her annual budget to these greedy and heartless people for importing fuel and they are evils behind why our own refineries aren't working and making sure they wreck the system for hard working Nigerians. By and large, I'll suggest the president call those holding the economy backward to order and let them realize how much damages they have cost and ask them to step aside quietly and anyone that refuses should be meant to force the law accordingly not the embarrassing way of humiliating ex-government official. Those mentality should be wipe off our political scenes because there are disgusting and image killing on international level. They embezzle public funds, let them make a return under mutual agreement and not sending them to unlawful prison.
Most importantly, Nigeria government should try to come up with more initiative programs to engage the youths with and making them self reliance and future oriented. No doubt, the youths are the future of the country and if much is not giving to them, the struggle continues and more horrible irregularities happening everywhere. Youths are easily influenced with some flashing packages by evil politicians fighting for their selfish ambitious. Number of youths moving out of the land in search for a better life somewhere else, using their vast knowledge to benefit strange land instead of their motherland. This I term national degradation and we cannot afford to see this continue forever.
With these and more genuine solutions to come, we stand a better chance of turning Nigeria and Nigerians into a modern and well improved system for all. We definitely need to have a new mindsets and approach to things. Violence should be completely be a thing of the past and peaceful protests and constructive criticism are highly welcome.
