Thought it wise to further continue with this topic as so many comments came in from the part I article on peace and love and won't be fair enough if this is not given proper address here. Someone who actually want peace advocate for it and its for a better ending but, then several people have been hurt and seeking peace at this point might be jeopardy because its hard to let go by those who felt hurt and let down as events began to unfold. I quite agree and understand what it feels like and eagerness to have a revenge on someone who has hurt you badly however the society condemn revenge as it would do more harm than initial damage done.
Please people should get it right here! I'm not advocating on behalf of anyone but for peace and love among Nigerians in Cambodia. I'm a proud Nigerian and a lover of peace and love and can't watch my community going down while am still strong and active to offer little help that I can. We have tried several means to trash this issue but lots of people I understand are still very much unwilling to agree to attend meetings so I choose to bring it on here.
Should we continue to distance ourselves and watch things go off hand? Tony or whoever has hurt anyone has nothing to do with the association nor any executives who are working so hard to see things get back on right track. The association belongs to Nigerians in Cambodia not any individual and its earlier people start to reason it this way. Nigerians through general election elected representatives to oversee association's affairs and if the people are not up doing as it expected then we convey a meeting to address it by looking at what led to it and best possible way out.
We should learn to be patience with situation and most importantly, personal grudges does not go down well with politics at any level. Whoever has issues with the president that's not relating to association should try to resolve it beneath table discussion instead robbing it on others. As constitution clearly state it, if a leader is guilty of offenses, abuse of power, etc, members or masses can move for impeachment or his removal from office with due process not some bar gathering or roadside talks. Lets act as elites and as people that knows the laws and has full respect for it.
Another problem facing the association is the fact that Nigerians don't regard leaders appointed by them. If we regard those we elected and appointed as leaders we would listen to them and its the easiest way to solve problems. Egos and pride has gotten us into this mess and now is the right time to set things straight. In a modern and civilized society, peace and co-operations are major keys to success. In regardless of what anyone has achieved personally, we do need each other and a bad man of yesterday can become a good man today. Lets' learn to give people chance to express themselves, lets' give chance to people to show their abilities and their voices heard whether good or bad.
Mr. president said he has learnt his lessons and if GIVEN second chance he would set records straight and ensure Nigerians live together in harmony not a state of disarray. From my understanding, its a sign of remorse for lesson learned and appealing to those offended to please forgive and forget. You can't hold a man down without staying down with him as well. This man does need us now and we should stand by him instead of nailing him to that tight situation to make sure he doesn't come out.
There are also several allegations that he's maltreating fellow Nigerians where he's being detain presently and to assure all of you that we are not folding our arms on this issue. Justice must take it cause however lets' exercise more patience to gather quality information. There is need for a proper discretion in handling this matters.
To draw the curtain, I would repeat myself by saying association must move on and people should not bear personal grudges on either the executives nor association. Lets convey a meeting that we all would honor to address this prevailing circumstances. There's no smoke without fire and we all know where this smoke is coming from if we truly seek for peace and love. To those claiming to be ignorance of what's happening, wake up from your slobber to accept reality. Don't wait for any personal consultation or whatsoever. No man's an highland of knowledge. With or without you, the association would forge ahead and situation surely get better so join the sailing ship now.
