Jim Iyke begins work on exclusive clothing line codenamed (Untamed Closet)

From Abuja to Newyork, Newyork to Baltimore, Baltimore to Dall and Houston, Houston to Istanbul, Istanbul to Dubai, and Dubai back to Lagos, star actor Jim Iyke is a busy, busy man. His acting prowess has been exceptional, achieving success in a relatively short period of time.
It’s therefore no wonder that he is bringing the same thrust and dedication to a new clothing line dubbed (Untamed Closet) unto the scene, something that had been in the works for some time now.
Check out the dexterous Jim Iyke in action with designs below:

Bombing at UN building in Abuja leaves seven dead

Bombing at UN building in Abuja leaves seven dead

A car laden with explosives rammed through two gates and blew up at the United Nations' offices in Nigeria's capital Friday, killing at least seven people and shattering part of the concrete structure.
The brazen attack, carried out as the U.N. offices teemed with staff, comes as Africa's most populous nation faces the growing threat of both homegrown and international terrorism. Militants from the country's oil-rich Niger Delta and a radical Muslim sect from northeast Nigeria have carried out attacks in the country's capital, though never on a foreign target.

Witnesses told The Associated Press that a sedan rammed through two separate gates at the U.N. compound as guards tried to stop the vehicle. The suicide bomber inside drove the car up to the main reception of the building and detonated the explosives, inflicting the most damage possible, witnesses said."I saw scattered bodies," said Michael Ofilaje, a UNICEF worker at the building. "Many people are dead."
The building houses about 400 employees of the U.N. in Nigeria, including the majority of its offices. A local U.N. spokesman declined to comment, but a local hospital administrator told the AP it had treated as many as 40 victims so far, with more people coming in.He said it felt like "the blast came from the basement and shook the building."A Nigerian rescue official told the AP that at least seven people had been killed. Authorities were still trying to account for everyone inside the building at the time of the explosion. The official requested anonymity as he was not authorized to release the figures to journalists. In New York, U.N. deputy spokesman Farhan Haq said the building houses offices of a number of U.N. agencies including the U.N. Development Program, UNICEF and the U.N. Population Fund."We believe there are many casualties but at this point we don't know what the level of casualties is," he said. "We condemn all terror attacks regardless of motivation."The building, located in the same neighborhood as the U.S. embassy and other diplomatic posts in Abuja, had a huge hole punched in it. Workers brought three large cranes to the building within hours after the attack, trying to pull away the concrete and rubble to and find survivors. Others at the site stood around, stunned, as medical workers began carrying out what appeared to be the dead."This is getting out of hand," said a U.N. staffer who identified himself as Bodunrin. "If they can get into the U.N. House, they can reach anywhere. Ali Tikko, who was in a building 100 yards (meters) from the site of the blast when it occurred said, "I heard one big boom.""I see a number of people lying on the floor — at least four or five. I cannot see if they are dead. There are a lot of security around," Tikko said by telephone. Local police spokesman Jimoh Moshood said police are investigating. Reuben Abati, a spokesman for President Goodluck Jonathan, said the presidency would later issue a statement on the attack. No one immediately claimed responsibility. Oil-rich Nigeria faces terrorism threats on multiple fronts. Last year, a militant group from the country's oil patch, the Niger Delta, blew up car bombs in the capital during Nigeria's 50th independence anniversary ceremony, killing at least 12. The militant group did not immediately respond to an AP request for comment Friday. Nigeria, a nation of 150 million, is split between a largely Christian south and Muslim north. In recent months, the country has faced an increasing threat from a radical Muslim sect called Boko Haram, which wants to implement a strict version of Shariah law in the nation. The sect has carried out assassinations and bombings, including the June car bombing in Abuja of the national headquarters of Nigeria's federal police that killed at least two people. Earlier this month, the commander for U.S. military operations in Africa said Boko Haram may be trying to link with two al-Qaida-linked groups in other African countries to mount joint attacks in Nigeria. Gen. Carter Ham told AP on Aug. 17 during a visit to Nigeria that "multiple sources" indicate Boko Haram made contacts with al-Qaida in the Islamic Maghreb, which operates in northwest Africa, and with al-Shabab in Somalia."I think it would be the most dangerous thing to happen not only to the Africans, but to us as well," Carter said

Veteran actor and comedian Nkem Owoh, seeks political appointment in Nigeria

Veteran actor and comedian Nkem Owoh, seeks political appointment in Nigeria

Numerous media sources are indicating that, veteran actor/comedian Nkem Owoh known in various circles as Osuofia, could be eyeing a political appointment. He is said to be so impressed with one Governor Rochas Okorocha’s gesture in sharing political appointments and wants to try his luck as well. The producer and star comic actor described all the appointment that Rochas has made as one means to surrender the untouchable security vote to help the masses. It was informed that Osuofia revealed to his close friends that he will always associate with a man who is so generous. However, people close to the actor disclosed that he is eyeing political appointment with the government because the governor is especially liberal with such appointments irrespective of the appointee’s state of origin. We wish him best of luck in his quest.

I have no intention of running for any post

This is to make it categorically clear that
I, BEDE UWALAKA, HAVE NO INTENTION OF RUNNING FOR ANY POST UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE IN THE NIGERIAN COMMUNITY, CAMBODIA.

I have unequivocally declined any proposal to be the association's flag bearer right from the onset. My long-standing commitment for Nigerian unity seems to be misinterpreted, but I am neither biased, nor do I have any ulterior motive. My agenda has always been at the discretion of the entire house.
The presidency and other offices are open to competent Nigerians, if they can be conscientious enough to come out and deliberate on the way forward. Nigerians should stop running the association online, on the mobile phone - voice or SMS, on the streets, and in restaurants and night clubs. They should refrain from the use of vulgar language and indecent expressions. The whole world is reading your comments.
If Nigerians feel dissatisfied with the present exco to step down, they should adopt the formal procedure and stop raising individual opinions from their comfort zones. It is cowardice and a willful act of sabotage on themselves. The incumbent exco is doing their best to serve even without the support of the house. It would be unreasonable for any  responsible to expect the exco to finance the association from their personal coffers even after their selfless sacrifice for the welfare of the Nigerians. We should not be apostates and deserters. We cannot solve our problems by running away from them. Some Nigerians claim ignorance of our predicament, but the truth must be told no matter how bitter it is.
As much as we all have the freedom of expression, I would not like my name to be associated with aspiration for any leadership position. It has never been my desire, so count me out of the race.
Please dissociate me from power-drunk Nigerians and those with selfish intentions!
Finally, I will not entertain any individual correspondence regarding the statements above.

Signed
Bede O.C. Uwalaka

We're free

Patrick and two other members of the group of five that were arrested few days ago have been released from detention by police after detainees has been confirmed not guilty as charged. According to a source, they were arrested for making suji (cassava flavor) for food at their resident which was thought to be illegal items by police.

Julius and other whose name I don't know are still in custody for visa reasons however people are optimistic they been granted bail as soon as possible and back to normal live again.

Fate of NCSA

Great Nigerians,

The happenings couldn't have been glamouring better without proper timing.

I respect the smartness of Nigerians anytime however I'm quite unsettled on one thing sure and that's why are people acting like they don't care whereas they do. Please read below comments from a certain article publish earlier this month and tell me what you think.

I strongly believe people still care much about the association and this is encouraging to know. My appeal here is that people should let go off past events that has led to separation or division among us and learn to forgive one another. I'm sure we can undo things for good again and live together again in true happiness. This is what am standing for anytime anywhere. I do not represents any group or individual. I represent the people, one voice, unity and progress, transparency, accountability and interest of one Nigeria.

Wow you Nigerians can be a very nasty and jealous bunch! and by the sounds of it you were lucky to have such a president. Someone that did care for once and truly did something to help you, in a country where they would just as soon kick you then smile at you. and how did you repay him? by having him set up and detained. Now you call this man "mean and satanic" no wonder you have such problems with in your community here! God help you with what will happen to you all when he is tired of your abuse and no longer wants to stand and defend you here. Because after all who wants to stand for a bunch of thugs and thieves? When this is how you have treated the only person that has.

Well, This is overwhelming and getting real interesting to know that people still care much about what's happening and where we have missed it. I have read all your comments here and this is where I stand. Lets' convey a meeting to discuss issues as online meeting alone won't help enough. Lets' be open minded to face reality n bear in mind that we are seeking way forward not how to wreck things more. Please, people should try to avoid the use of foul language here, like referring to Nigerians as beasts! I'm no one and sure neither anyone else is. Lets's watch it please.. Truth is truth and we can't shy away from it.

People are entitle to their opinions and so its Harry. I'm entitle to speak the truth because I care about what's happening now among my people. Also, am not doing this to be recognized by anybody or trying to be an hero. I know quite well heroes are never be recognized in our place irrespective of their immeasurable efforts and late sam loco was a good example. I do appreciate the fact that you are warning me here but I do not foresee any threat as you posing it. Thanks for the warning and I should take to it now. On other hand, Beed like every single Nigerians living in the kingdom has constitutional rights to vote and be voted for so people should quit condemning or discouraging anyone willing to taste NCSA leadership. Issue of d excos would remain silent on my side for now as I'm preparing heavily to publish a mind blowing article on what's been going on around them. I personally encourage anyone with sincere heart and capable of leading people to please step out to run for an office whenever there is an opportunity. Hope of a community do not lay solely on one person. Life na turn by turn

Mr. Anonymous u said people didntcome to meeting so exco has not failed. .Why people dont come? If the excos are credible people willl honor their call. Bede has called for meeting many times yet nobody attend so u can see why they have failed and the best thing for them to do now is to resign. Harry u are part of the old executive and was once given vote of no confidence. You lost the election and only GOd know how u smuggle your way back to the new executive. Like many of the present exco how many are actually occupying position they were voted for? Let us be honest with our self the election that brought in this regime right from cowch to now is fake and untill we do the right thing we will continue to fail.

The problem with nigerians is that they dont like to say the truth or being told the truth. What is happening to the association now is simply self imposed. My question are as follows Why are people not coming to the Meeting called by the Executives? Where are the people who filled more than 10 busses during the election time? Why are The people who clamoured for change then? Who is in charge since the detention of the de facto president? What is the embassy doing concerning the impasse that has befallen the association? Do we really need the association to forge ahead as a people here in cambodia? answers to these questions will really help us find a way forward.
Harry Alasco said...
Bob, you have asked brilliant questions here and wish people would respond to them. However, its true that Nigerians needs the association to forge ahead. Gathering of the people has helped a lot in sorting different challenges and rendering help to people as regard consular n others. Embassy can only act if d people are speaking with a voice. I can confirm this with you here that they are aware of whatever happenings on ground. People are not honoring calls for meeting because they are several under ground forces posing strong opposition against the ruling government and no doubt about this as what's happening now are obvious example. As to who's in charge since president's detention, is the acting president as constitution rights, Mrs Fatima! Undoubtedly, she's doing her best and people should learn to respect that till issues are properly resolved and we are back together again as a community. Why are you asking for those rallied for change then when you see them on streets every day? They are acting on instructions I presumed and one has to be loyal to leadership hence you dance to the playing music. People are around waiting and watching. Finally, there's no community without leadership and we are not an exceptional one. If no vote of confident is pass on present leadership then lets come out to dissolve their ruling and appoint or elect people with credibility on ground transparency for brighter future. WE DON'T KNOW WHAT WE ARE MISSING WHILE THIS SHAMEFUL INCIDENT SURROUNDS US AND UNTIL WE ARE SHOWN THE SHINING LIGHT THE STRUGGLE CONTINUES. GOD Bless!!!
